Offgrid (Solarizer) Solar Power Plant 0.5 kVA for flat residents

This system has especially been designed for flat-owners who have balconies/patios/railings that receive good amount of sunlight and also have existing inverter & battery as a backup system.

Typically residents cover their balconies with lousy tin-sheds to protect the usable area from rain and heat – thereby wasting the precious sunlight that could have generated significant amount of electricity for atleast 30 years. This solution harnesses that precious sunlight, thereby cutting significantly on your electricity bill and helping reduce carbon foot print.

How does the system work:

Our special device, Dabun-Solarizer, converts your normal battery & inverter into a solar inverter. Your existing inverter now has one more power source – solar energy, in addition to electricity and battery. Solarizer has intelligence built into it that tries to support your existing load with solar power and diverts any excess energy to battery. During this time, the solarizer cuts off the electricity (mains). As the generation falls, solarizer now combines solar power with battery and tries to power the load – still the main supply is not touched. Only if both solar and battery are not able to support the load, does the solarizer shift to main supply thereby using solar energy to the fullest. As obvious, if there is a grid failure during the day, you will continue to get seamless supply from solar.

What all I can run on this set:

Whatever you had been running so far with your existing inverter.

Generation Potential:

In the best case scenario, this will generate approximately 50 units per month which translates to Rs 600/- of electricity bill every month.  Balconies might not receive consistent sunlight through the day. Depending on the duration you receive the sunlight and other factors like shaded area etc, the generation will vary accordingly. Also, this setup depends on how effectively the solar energy is used – you might have a situation where battery is charged and there is no downstream load – in such scenarios, even if there is ample potential, generation is poor as there is nothing that can consume the electricity. Due to the above mentioned reasons, you might get lower generation.

Space requirement:

These panels will require around 30 sq-ft of space (Size of the panel is 7 ft x 4 ft ). So, if your balcony has this much amount of space and this area receives good amount of sunlight, you can go green with solar.

Can someone do a site visit?

Yes. We can send our engineer to your site to do a site assessment, make recommendations and take up any queries you might have. There is a charge of 800/- for this visit. Return on investment:

Typically, the plant will pay for itself, by neutralizing electricity bill, in 5 years. After that, you continue to get free electricity for next 25 years with no further investment.

Will it block my entire balcony:

No, these are elevated structures – so this will act as roof of your balcony and protect the space from rains. Solar panels would absorb sunlight and help lower the temperature. And you can still use the space for yourself.

Will I get subsidy?:

No. Government does not give subsidy on offgrid products.

Is there any approval required from government?

No. No approvals are required. You can get up and running within minutes!!

In Scope:

Complete Solar Power Generation Set that includes material (solarizer, solar panels, mounting structure) as well as services (installation, transport). In short, this is a complete end to end package – you do not have to worry about anything else.

Out of Scope:

• AC wiring from inverter to your load. This needs to be taken care of by your electrician.

Optional:

• Operation and Maintenance service
• Extended Warranty (post expiry of warranty)

Customization

The configuration stated is for “normal” standard sites. In case, there is a customization required, the cost would be modified accordingly. Examples of such customization requirement are:

• The solar panel mounting structure needs to be elevated as per site requirement
• Access to roof via escalator is not possible. Additional cost to lift the structure will be added.
